I am touched by your kind words.

It is so easy to get caught up in the business of living. We rarely have time to take a closer look and consider our personal lives. We worry about the urgent needs of the moment, whether at our workplace or within our families or with our friends. So many things around us scream out for our constant attention. We get so caught up in the race to keep up that we tend to lose track of where we really are with our lives …….and who we are becoming. None of us want to look back on our lives and wonder where the years have gone, especially with regrets that we never discovered what it means to live. But if we never stop and question where we are in our lives, this just might be what happens to us. Thank you so much for dropping by and sharing your thoughts. Truly appreciated. All the Best, Maritza (journey to balance)

I love your blog it is so pretty c: Thanks for following ♥ xx

Thank you so much; great to meet you here. This is great fun :-) Blessings, Maritza (journey to balance)

Nice to find you again. I used to be Secondstoryman/Davidup. I closed the blog because it became too 'commercialized'. As always, I wish you a peaceful day. David

Hello David,

This is a pleasant surprise and a serendipitous occurrence. I haven’t posted much lately on account of being on location. I am currently wrapping up some work in Islamabad. At the university at the moment for an upcoming conference and multitasking by taking advantage of their available internet access. After I transfer some volunteers to the Israeli border to deal with the Syrian refugee issue, I will head back home. I love hearing from you and others I met back to when I started this blog because it makes be feel as though we are starting a little community here. Yes, that feels comforting, and validating in a way. Thanks for staying in touch. Be safe, Sincerely Maritza (jtb)

PS: I love the name of your new blog: Sanctuary …yes, very fitting. Stunning photography and thought provoking posts; I wish you much success and peace of mind of course. May your blog serve as a productive outlet for your creativity as it does for me; a much needed escape and respite from the daily ______. :)

I have two life. One is full of light and beautiful, the other is dark and sad. Why?

Hi, it’s me, Maritza. I don’t know when you sent this message; how long you’ve been waiting for a response. If it is long, I am sorry. Not intentional. I am traveling now, on location, with little access to internet. I will answer you, because in doing so, I am helping myself; healing in a way. Writing is a cathartic exercise for me. You see, in this way, you and I are very much the same. Why, you ask. Because you are normal. You are human.  Sometimes, you may feel like a lost soul who isn’t quite in touch with your dreams. The energy is there but you might feel misdirected; led in the wrong direction. The key then becomes to lead yourself. CUT THROUGH EVERYONE ELSE’S AGENDA AND FOLLOW YOUR INTERNAL COMPASS. The more you take charge, the happier you will be. Anon, no one is happy all the time. In fact, I believe that a full person, a WHOLE person, carries within a entire list of emotions; from love and compassion to jealousy and rage. A balanced person, keeps ALL these aspects of their personality centered. In other words, let me use myself as example if I may. During times when I’ve had a good week, or I have been successful in a particular task or mission, I meditate and I pray too…that I don’t become arrogant; that my ego doesn’t fool me into thinking I am infallible.  Then, during times that I fail; during times that I feel useless and inadequate, I meditate and pray for strength to at least try again. I pray for clarity and endurance. As you put it in times of light when all is beautiful, I seek humility. In times when I am sad and lost in darkness, I seek strength. I am only human, only one person. Maybe we can’t always be GREAT…but we CAN BE SOLID… WE CAN DO OUR BEST…It is OK to fail! IT IS OUR DUTY to get back up! The real enemy is apathy. Beware of it, and fight it…because this WILL defeat you. I GIVE you LOVE, for passion I know you already have….peace & blessings, Maritza (journey to balance)
