We all have many roles in life. It is acceptable to be interested in many things and to explore as we go through life seeking to understand ourselves and our world. However, we must beware of becoming “a jack of all trades” who knows a little of everything and a lot of nothing.

Some of us have such a need and desire for a relationship that we are willing to submerge our feelings just to keep the peace. The need to be united is so strong, that any union, no matter how imperfect, is clung to.

Inevitably independence is lost because keeping the illusion of harmony becomes more important than individual expression. To avoid conflict we compromise our thoughts and beliefs because our self-worth is based on other’s opinions of us.

Externally this life and lifestyle may appear selfless but in reality quite the opposite is true.

Relationships such as these are prone to illusions, delusions, and self-deception.

Deep down these insecure feelings will continue to fester until eventually they will burst to manifest anger, resentment and deceit.

True balance is achieved when individuals can come together not in harmony but in cooperation. In other words, individuals’ needs must be recognized. We carry many inner archetypes; two of which are the ruler and the child. These two personages must be in balance. The innocent child within will bring the soul a kind of innocent joy; a divine sacredness; whereas the ruler archetype, will endow us with an innate power. By feeding this inner power we can manifest great creativity and self-expression.

When in balance, our inner child can and will prevent the ruler in all of us from becoming overbearing, prejudiced, self-important or dictatorial.

To truly serve is to act as the manifestation and expression of your divine self. If by serving, one tries to placate a feeling of unworthiness, than this renders the act null and void.

It is entirely possible for us to express and communicate our feelings without being overly emotional.
